Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I seem to have a cyst or boil or something along those lines on my inner left thigh. It is painful and has only gotten worse and slightly larger over the past week or so. I just looked into what to do and from my understanding that is warm, damp, compression . I do not want to deal with this shit much longer, if I had a needle I would lance it myself. Any advice?
I would suggest you to avoid lancing the boil on your own as it can cause infection to spread.. You should consult a General Physician and get evaluated and he can advise you a course of antibiotics, anti-inflammatory painkillers and topical treatment like cleaning the area with betadine solution and apply a combination of antibiotic ointment along with steroid ointment over it..
In case if it is pus filled bump of considerable size incision and drainage can be advised to you..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora..
