Suggest Treatment For A Cut On The Clitoris

Hello I was shaving the other day with a razor and I cut myself around my clitoral the cuts seem very deep and hurt to touch and wipe very much. I have applied vagisil ointment to help with the burning pain. Can apply nealsporn or something to actually heal it? I don t have health insurance so going to the dr is not an option right now, is their any over the counter stuff I can apply to help it heal faster?

Hello,

Avoid self pleasure, do not use sex toys. Take care of your hygiene. Take bath regularly. Examine the wound for foreign objects and dirt, clean it with plain water and anti-bacterial soap. You can apply ointment bacitracin or Neosporin on the area affected but apply it only after cleaning the area and patting it dry. Be gentle with yourself. It will get well in 5-7 days. If it takes time to heal or gets infected. Take a course of Doxycycline-100.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
