Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My husband was just told by the Dr after a CT scan on his abdomen that he has a lymph node on his waist . It s very painful and he s had this pain for several months? Now the Dr wants him to go for an MRI. Is this something very serious or can it be cancerous?

As per your explanation I suggest to go for mri as early as possible for early diagnosis. You don't need to worry if the swelling is not increasing as well if the tender or painful area is not increasing. But the final diagnosis will be with mri report. If it shows problem also need to go for biopsy to check on cancerous tissue check. We can not say any thing now. So just go for check up. Hope this was useful for you.. Take care.
