Suggest Treatment For A Pus Filled Painful Bump On The Arm

hi, I recently got a bug bite on my arm and now seems to be infected and inflamed around the bite. The bite itself is the size of a dime, around it is inflamed largely about 3 inches around the entire bite and feels bruised to the touch. Some white and clear ooze has come out of it too. I m just trying to figure out what this is! Help!

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of pus filled painful bump on the arm after bug bite. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like skin infection or allergic reaction . It must have got infected and that is exaggerating your symptoms. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to apply a topical antibiotic cream like neosporin over the affected areas twice a day , apply cold compresses , take benadryl twice a day and do not touch or pick . If condition persist then consult dermatologist for proper examination . Doctor may prescribe oral antibiotics like clindamycin , anti inflammatory or may recommend liposuction in case of lipoma
