Suggest Treatment For Abdominal Pain , Nausea , Chest Pain And Vomiting

Thank you. I started a low dose of Zetia about a month ago. Last Friday afternoon all of a sudden I experienced abdominal pain, nausea, wanted to vomit, sweating, weakness, light headed, a pain in my chest under my breast and lastly jaw pain. I laid down at home, rested and in a bit I felt better. Then on Sunday afternoon the same symptoms returned. I again laid down. Now I m giving thought about my jaw pain. Then it occurred to me to check the side efffects of Zetia. I see I experienced many of them. I still have loss of appetite, dizziness, abdominal fullness (I was going to go to my Gastro Dr), constant headache. Zetia my problem?

Hi thanks for contacting HCM...

Noted you are taking zetia that is ezetimibe since one month....

It is used for reducing cholesterol level in blood....

The mentioned complained like headache, diarrhea , vomitting, soreness can be by this drug....
Second you can have gastritis that lead stomach pain...

You can consult your treating doctor and for hyper cholesterol another drug like atorvastatin can be used which is equally effective.....

Meanwhile symptomatic management done....
Take omeprazole for few days....
Fruits taken more...
More water.....
Avoid gastric irritants like smoking , alcohol , meat , excess tea etc....
For vomitting take domperidone....

If still condition worsen then detail investigation according to physical examination done....
Like chest x ray , USG and LFT ....
