38 yr-old woman. Pain in the lower abdomen. Continued vomiting and diarrhoea since 3 days. Nothing gets digested, not even water. No fever. Have had pains like these before 2 years and in childhood too; subsided after injections. Taking meds for high BP since 2 years. No appetite. Please help.

Geriatrics Specialist 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for asking.
Based on your query, my opinion is as follows.
1. Take plenty of fluids with oral rehydration salts to correct water and electrolyte imbalance.
2. Anti spasmodic like dicyclomine or mefenamic acid will reduce abdominal pain.
3. Possible food poisoning. Need to start on antibiotics. For prescription, meet your doctor. Avoid spicy or sour foods to reduce further gastric irritation.
Hope it helps.
Any further queries, happy to help again
