Suggest Treatment For Acid Reflux After Taking Rejoint
Hi. I have a case history of stomach ulcer however i have been better past 2 years. I have been asked by an orthapedeic to have rejoint tablets twice a day which i started on tuesday and today i have been having acid reflux again. I am not sure how to continue with this tablet. Please advise on the same. regards pooja

Rejoint can cause Acid reflux in a patient who is having previous history of Stomach Ulcer . So you have two options .
1. Consult your Orthopedic doctor and ask for an alternative and try those .
2. Start Anti-reflux medicines like Rabeprezole+Domperidone daily morning .
If you plan to start Anti-reflux medicines kindly ask your local doctor for a prescription .
Also be on less spicy diet . Avoid Citrus fruits .

Hello Pooja,
Rejoint is Glucosamine. Gastritis and acid reflux are well known side effect of Glucosamine. These are worst with Glucosamine in the capsule or tablet form. These side effects have been reported to be less with liquid preparation. There are a few preparations available.
If you take a liquid preparation after food, you would probably be able to tolerate the same. If you cannot tolerate still, then you could take a proton pump inhibitor like Omez half an hour before your food and then take the glucosamine after the food.
