Suggest Treatment For Alzheimer's Disease

My husband,68 years old, was 8 years back diagnosed as suffering from 'drug induced Parkinson's disease together with Alzheimer's disease. He was administered a drug called "Donep".After the first dose of the tablet itself, due to nonstop vomitting we were forced to take him off Donep. This was in 2003.The doctor said that there was no alternative medicine( at that tim) and nothing much could be done to help him. My husband has been a schizophrenic since very long for which he had taken treatment since 1979. Now, he is in a very poor state. He is highly demented.Till about a month back he was being given Placidin - 50 mg 2 times a day and Lonazep .5mg at night time. Right now he is not being given any medicine. He is almost bedridden.
Please tell me if anything can be done at this late stage. Is there a treatment for Alzheimer's disease?

There are no really course changing treatment for Alzheimer disease.
However one drug which could be tried, which is approved for moderate to severe Alzheimer's is Memantine.
The only other class of Alzheimer's drugs is that to which Donep (donepezil) belongs which you say to have caused severe side effects. There is a member of this class, Rivastigmine, which is also in the form of a transdermal patch with a lower but still pretty considerable risk of vomiting so I wouldn't try it.
