Suggest Treatment For Ankle Injury

Daughter got hit by a puck in the ankle last night. She was in extreme pain so took her to the hospital. The doctor examined her -she had movement but was still in a lot of pain. He didn t do an xray because they had no one to do it. He put her on crutches and told to ice it. She woke up this morning was able to put more weight on it but got sore so she went back on crutches. She is on advil but is still unable to put a lot of weight on foot. There is very little swelling and bruising. She is 11.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I suggest using anti inflammatory medications such as Acetaminophen to relieve the pain. I also suggest using cold compresses for local application. I recommend to maintain the area immobilized.

Hope my answer was helpful. If you have further queries feel free to contact me again.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi
