Suggest Treatment For Arthritis

I am a 47 yr old woman with a history of arthritis that has caused some pain and being treated for it over the last several years. However, I have continued to have worsened pain, especially in the bones of my pelvis, hips, femurs, tibias and knees. My doc said it was just probably my arthritis and put me on Celebrex, Lyrica, Orphenadrine and Tramadol. These meds have helped with the joints somewhat but the bone pain has worsened over the last year. I am anemic and my doctor was 'watching' enlarged lymph nodes the last several visits over the past 8 months. I lost my health insurance and nothing new has been done. *Another note: I had an MRI and the medical report said "There is a mulitfocal patchy heterogeneous bone marrow signal predominantly throughout the proximal tibia but also to a lesser extent effecting the distal femur in a few spots. These areas are hyperintense on T2 and Stir and hypointense on T1. Possibly due to red marrow hyperplasia, but other etiologies cannot be completely excluded." I guess my question is...what should I do? Is this serious? Should I be concerned? If I should be seen...then I will get seen somehow, even if in the ER with this awful bone pain. Thanks so much!

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response

Hello,

I have studied your case

You may need to consult orthopaedic surgeon.

This doesn't look serious.

joint arthritis can be treated with local steroid injection under C- ARM guidance.

For these symptoms analgesic and neurotropic medication can be started.
Till time, avoid lifting weights, Sit with support to back. You can consult physiotherapist for help.
Physiotherapy like ultrasound and interferential therapy will give quick relief.
I will advise to check your vit B12 and vit D3 level.

Epidural steroid may help.

Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.

Wishing you good health.

Take care.
