Hi, Any medicines will have some side effects, but we use them when the benefits outweighs side effects. Maxiflow is given in severe asthma not responding to lower drugs. On long term, this might cause slights steroid effects, like weight gain, bone weakness, hypertension, but most children will not develop this. Also, depending on response, we can decrease the dose gradually. Montec LC kid is a combination drug that is usually not preferred for long term use. We prefer plain Montelukast over this, and that too for about 6 months only. Kindly follow up with a pediatrician or pediatric asthma specialist, as treatment is somewhat different from adults.
