Hello,

No atopic dermatitis (eczema) is not curable, but it might go away. A way to think about it is that you have sensitive skin. What might lead to dryness in another person causes your skin to become super dry, itchy and scaly.

It comes and goes, and some children (especially those under 2) may just grow out of it. In my experience, it takes families a lot of trial and error to see what works for them.

But most commonly, it takes lots and lots of lotions/ointments, applied very frequently - like 3-5 x/day and especially after lukewarm baths to lock in hydration.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Lisa Baker
