Suggest Treatment For Back Pain Caused After An Injury

I took a hard fall on my back/ ribs off the water while tubing. Happened 2 Saturday s ago. Hurts to twist and sit up although seems to be getting better. Wondering if there s something to be concerned about. Right side about where elbow touches wrapping around to back. Tender to touch.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

As per your history, it may be due to blunt trauma to back.

For further assessment you may require MRI back after orthopedician consultation.

Till then you can take tablet acetaminophen. Apply diclofenac gel or ointment locally.

Heating pads will also help.

Restrict forward bending and squatting position.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shyam B. Kale, General & Family Physician
