Suggest Treatment For Bleeding After Sexual Intercourse

My boyfriend and I had sexual intercourse on Friday, I noticed after when I went to the washroom I was bleeding, just enough to turn the water red. after that it stopped until the next day, I bled just a little bit and it was brown, it is now Tuesday and I am still bleeding a little bit and it is still brown. I have been with the same guy for years and have had regular physicals. I am on birth control and have been for awhile. I am a week away from my expected period. Im not sure what it could be..

Hello ma'am and welcome.

At times, the act of sexual intercourse itself can stimulate and cause an early period. Another cause for the bleeding could be the birth control you are on, as it can also result in inter-menstrual bleeding.

But there can be many more less simple causes to bleeding observed during or immediately after sexual intercourse and need to be ruled out, which is why I would recommend a visit to your doctor for further evaluation.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes.
