Suggest Treatment For Bleeding And Swelling In Vagina Post Injury
I was riding my brothers bike that was too big and I jumped thinking my legs would hit the floor but they didn t and my crotchets hit hard into the metal thing Infront and my vagina has a huge swollen looking ball on it and it s bleeding cut and it hasn t stopped bleeding. What should I do. My mom out neosporn on it and said it ll heal on it s own but do I need stitches??
Your mother seems to be right in her advice. If there is a cut which is bleeding actively, it will need suturing. If the cut is not sutured within 24 hours, some infection and/or swelling may develop in the wound which will not allow the cut to heal after suturing. In such cases, control of infection with antibiotics and control of swelling by anti-inflammatory medicines is required before suturing; which may even require three weeks or so. Please continue applying Neosporine ointment 4-5 times a day.
For the swelling of vulva due to bleeding under the skin (contusion) and blunt injury, you may apply cold ice packs. If there is intolerable pain you my take some painkiller; however, please avoid aspirin.
I hope this helps you.
