Suggest Treatment For Blocked Nose Due To Cold

My son wakes up every morning with one of his nostrils completletly filled with crusts. Then when I ask him to open his mouth there is some dry goo at the back of his throat followed by clear/yellow mucous. An hour of so later, he s fine. Feel like I can see a sore on the inside of his nose *the side where the bone is. Just been on a course of Amoxiil which did nothing.
