Suggest Treatment For Blood And Mucus In Stool

hi, i have had bloody stool for the past 6 months or so. It is bright red, and sometimes comes out in clumps (looks almost like a clot). When I wipe, the toilet paper is almost always bloody and mucus-y. Also, I usually only go about 2 times a week, and I feel as if I need to go, but cant.. I have tried laxatives but they dont seem to help.
