Suggest Treatment For Blue Discoloration On The Ring Finger
I m an avid golfer 3/4 times weekly ....A few days ago, the finger next to my pinkie swelled on me and turned slightly blue...I assumed it was too much golf...I ve never had this happen and, I put some ice on it that day...I assume rest would be the best treatment....
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
The swollen finger next to your pinkie could be due to misusing during your golf playing (trauma). As the blood vessels there have been damaged, there is hemorrhage explaining the slightly blue color it turned. As you did not prevent all this by applying ice after trauma, it turned this way. I highly recommend to apply alternating cold and warm compresses to dissolve the blood there and give some relief. Heparin gel can help by applying locally. If still no improvement, orthopedic specialist to consult further for more specific help.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
