Suggest Treatment For Body Ache, Cough And Fever In An Elderly Person

my father is 91 years old. his temperature is rising. currently at 101.2. he caught whatever my wife had for the last 4 days. Severe body ache with a cough . no nasal congestion. he feels awful and wants to go to the hospital. It seems like the flu but my wife is worried. is there a point that he needs to go to the hospital. not sure what they would do for him.

Hello,

Your father seems to have an infection- if his wife had the flu it might be the same but one must exclude other causes like a urine infection. If he is unable to drink (dehydrated) or seems to get generally worse (confused, very lethargic) he would have to go to hospital.

Kind Regards
