Suggest Treatment For Borderline Diabetes

I have been diagnosed with borderline diabetes. I have noticed that when I get hungry, I begin to get a terrible sinus headache. I have also noticed that when I eat too much of the wrong things, I begin to get headaches as well. Is there a correlation between my diabetes and these headaches.

Hello there,
I understand your concern about these headaches. Although diabetes or borderline diabetes is not known to directly cause headaches but blood sugar fluctuations can lead to these headaches. When you are hungry and if your blood sugars falls to below 70mg/dl then you may get a headache due to hypoglycemia. Or when you eat junk food loaded with carbohydrates then sudden increase in blood sugars can also cause headaches. So first of all try to split your meals such that you eat every 3-4 hours but small meals. This will prevent low sugars (as you are eating frequently) and also avoid high sugars (as you are eating smaller meals each time). Try this for about 2 weeks and see if it helps. If not then you may need to visit a physician who needs to examine you and ascertain the cause of headaches, Get a few blood tests like CBC,Kidney functions, Liver functions and CT or MRI for nasal sinuses and maybe for brain.
Hope this helps.
Take care.
