Suggest Treatment For Burning In Legs And Lack Of Energy

My son is a xc runner. He has always been a top runner. Now, for the past two weeks his legs are burning, no energy and runs like his legs weigh a ton. He even had to drop out of one race. He has been running for 5 years. His coach said to try iron. Do you know how much iron I should give him?

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Hello,
Thanks for your query.
The symptoms that you are having are likely to be related to benign causes like electrolyte imbalance, iron, vitamin D and B 12 deficiency, etc. Most of the times these symptoms can be taken care of by taking electrolyte rich fluids, vit D and Methylcobalamin and iron supplements.
I do hope that you have found something helpful and I will be glad to answer any further query.
Take care
