My present age is 56 years. My right leg is burning all the time since last 2 years. Since then I was taking Pregabid ME75 + Gabapin100mg twice daily, but no relief. At present I am taking Pregabid ME75 + Gabapin 300, twice daily from last 1 week but also no relief. What should I do.

Hello,

As the burning sensation of the leg, I think can be due to lumbar spine degenerative disc injury. as any small compression over the spinal cord or the nerve root may lead to abnormal sensation to the dermatomes and myotomes it supplies.

Since you are having this burning sensation which isn't helped by the medication I will advise to try doing McKenzie manuever which will help centralize the pain in the lower back and reduce the symptoms. McKenzie manuever you can find online. post this use icing over the lumbar spine if you don't have a diabetic profile if so then only hot water fermentation to the lumbar spine.

As you find the changes in the symptoms post-McKenzie maneuver then doing core stability exercises, spinal muscle strengthening exercises, hip muscle strengthening exercises and lower limb as a whole should help.

Please do check your uric acid levels also, as burning can also be due to a rise in uric acid levels.

Combination of the above-mentioned therapy along with medication should provide good results.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
