Suggest Treatment For Cartilage Tear In The Nose

Hello. I have been having loose cartilage tear loose from inside one nostril of my nose for several weeks now. When it tears off, the skin is very sensitive. What could be causing the cartilage to break loose, and what treatment(s) can I do to prevent this from continuing?
