Suggest Treatment For Chronic Diarrhea And Vomiting

I have felt tired past few months. Hx. of severe vomiting and diarrhea several weeks ago that took allot out of me. Recent visit to podiatrist for toe infection premed b/w screening showed elevated liver enzymes. Other symptoms I've had enclude difficulty sleeping, swelling of joints in hands, and frequency of urinating at night. Also weight gain.

Welcome to health care magic,

Chronic diarrhea with vomiting can be caused by bacterial infection,Lactose intolerance, colon cancer,bowels obstruction, hyperthyroidism, medicines (including those for high cholesterol), inflammatory bowels disease.

I kindly would like to ask you some questions like:

1)do you have blood in stools?
2)do you have fever?
3)do you have some times diarrhea and others constipation?
4) if you have done investigations like blood work, biochemical tests,stool tests and colonoscopy then please share with me.

If I were your treating doctor I would recommend you to run further test if they had not been done previously.

1)examination of stool for ova/parasites
2)culture of stool
3)malabsorption tests
4)Thyroid function test
5)An upper GI endoscopy with small bowel biopsy.

You may require antibiotics (quinolones or cephalosporins or antiprotozoals etc.) with anti-emetic for vomiting, antispasmodics and antiinflammatories with prebiotics and probiotics.

There might also be a need of fluid and electrolyte balance in body.

So,you must consult physician for complete treatment.
