Suggest Treatment For Chronic Pain Syndrome

I have been a pain patient for a number of years.I have been taking methadone for my chronic pain syndrome, many different conditions, one being facet syndrome. I don't care for the medication, but it has helped me regain alot of my life that would otherwise be nonexistant.Recently my family doc., who I care about and respect alot, told me that my dose at 25mg is the equivalent of 250mg of morphine. I was shocked, and I don't beleive it.I beleive it is something brought forth by legislation to continue their attemts, at ending pain management for the majority of patients. Any thoughts on this, is this really the equivalent, I am no walking zombie.I don't like being treated like a pathetic junky, a stigma that is my cross to bear, but I would like to know more.I beleive due to my level of constant chronic pain, another piece being a severed tendon and nerve damage to my right fith finger, damaged ulnar nerve, unrelenting pain, especially the wrist. My concern is for the future, if my condition is this bad at 42, I fear that doctors will continue to treat me poorly.I would like to have more knowledge to continue to advocate for myself.I did not realize this was going to cost this much money, I live on a fixed income and it is the end of the month, I apologize for taking up your time.I guess I am going to have to look into finding that information myself.thanks for your time.
