Suggest Treatment For Chronic Pancreatitis And IBS

Hello. I am a 58 year old female. I have chronic pancreatits, IBS, and many other internal issues. Right now I have been nauseous for almost two weeks. Tonight I have a headache, nausea, weakness, heartburn and sea foam green stool. I just checked and have a very small fever, (99.5). Should I be seen, or is it ok to wait until morning to call an on call doctor since my gastro specialist is out of the country?

Gastroenterologist 's  Response
Hello! Thanks for putting your query in HCM. I am a Gastroenterologist (DM).
It may all be caused by chronic pancreatitis. Diarrhoea may be due to exocrine insufficiency due to deficiency of enzymes secreted by pancreas which helps in digestion of food. Similarly nausea feel may be due to dysmotility that is decreased motility caused by chronic pancreatitis. Heartburns ay be due to reflux of acid. Green color stool may be due to iron supplements, green leafy vegetables or pancreatitis itself. However there is nothing alarming you may visit to your doctor once he is available. Meanwhile I will advise you to take a proton pump inhibitor like rabeprazole and eliminate diet whcih can cause green color. Take a course of probiotic also that may help in your diarrhoea.
I hope I have answered your query and this will help you. If you have any further query I will be happy to answer that too. Remain in touch and get-well soon.
