Suggest Treatment For Cold And Painful Sternum

I am just recently recovering from a run-in with the cold, but now I m getting what feels like cramps where my sternum is (or I think it is), or really just in my upper torso. It s not near my heart, and I m afraid it could be tied into my lungs? My father is prone to getting pneumonia after a cold, or anything really, and I really don t want pneumonia. Could this be something really serious?
