Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
BLOOD PRESSURE 104 OVER 60, COLD SKIN, SWEATING, FEELS FAINT, PALE SKIN AND LIPS...My husband 59 years old, takes meds for high blood pressure. He won t go to the doctor. He vomited and said there were small pieces of black stuff. I asked if it could be blood. He didn t know. His stomach hurt severely before he vomited. should I be worried?
The black stuff is very likely blood which can occur as a result of bleeding or inflammation in the esophagus or stomach.
It would be best for him to be seen by his doctor for assessment. If he is currently using aspirin or other medications that may increase his risk of bleeding, his doctor may suggest that they are temporarily discontinued.
Depending on the severity, he may also need to hold off food/drinks for a while.
If the bleeding continues, it may cause a further decrease in blood pressure and increasing symptoms. It is quite possible, with treatment that , if any bleeding is present, it can be effectively treated.
I hope this helps
