Suggest Treatment For Concussion And Headaches After Head Trauma
My 12 yr old son had a head trauma, possibly concussion, 4 days ago. He's had bad headaches since (he also has a history of migraines). His pediatrician recommended 200-400 mg of ibuprofen, or an adult dose of Tylenol. In addition to headaches, he is constantly hungry even after big meals. Could the hunger be a result of a concussion itself, or of taking the pain killers?
Emergency Medicine Specialist, Dr. Tim Evans's Response
Hi. I do not think his hunger has any relation to either his head injury or his pain killer medication. The main thing is that he has seen a doctor following his head injury and has been cleared. I would not worry about his hunger.
