Suggest Treatment For Confusion And Forgetfulness While Weaning Off Prednisolone

My daughter started a diminishing dose of prednisolone and very shortly thereafter we noticed that she seemed confused and forgetful - tried to use dish detergent instead of furniture polish to dust - she too the first dose (6 pills) the second and third days dose (5 pills and 4 pills respectively) and the first pill of the fourth day s dose when we contacted the dr. and discontinued the medicine. It has been 6 days since she took the last pill. If this confusion was caused by the medicine, how long should the confusion continue and if not, what might be a possible cause. She is 37 years old.

Prednisolone is a corticosteroid and its side effects are mood changes , weight gain , depression etc.
Now your daughter is having confusion ( most probably this is due to withdrawal syndrome ) but this is not a cause of concern .
Usually such type of effects will remain for next 7-14 days ( 2-3 weeks ).
In my opinion gradually these effects fade ,so take it easy and normal.
Good luck.
Still these effects remains after 14 days then consult a neurologist and get his opinion.
