Suggest Treatment For Congestion Due To Sputum

My husband has had extreme congestion and went to the doctor today. The doctor told him he has a deviated septum gave him steriod injections into his nose to help. However, its just made it worse, he can't even breath out of his nose at all now. His follow up appointment isn't until next tuesday. What should he do? Is this normal?

Thanks for your question on HCM. Chest congestion and cough may be seasonal and can be treated by antibiotics and antihistamines. But my concern for you is deviated nasal septum(DNS). If it is not treated properly the cough and congestion will not go completely as DNS cause post nasal drip and this constantly irritate and produce cough. Since you are not iproved by steroid injection, I suggest you surgery for DNS. So consult your ENT surgeon and discuss these things. And surgery for DNS is not life threatening.
