Suggest Treatment For Constant Vomiting

My 11 year old son has had vomiting episodes for years now. He gets quiet and lethargic then starts vomiting and continues vomiting for 4 days straight. He calls for gatorade, but vomits it within 10 seconds of drinking. He has been checked out by many doctors and for lack of findings, they ve called it cyclic vomiting syndrome. He has had 5 episodes this year (they are occurring more often). Long term: Could this be something else? Short term: Should we keep giving him gatorade, or is it making his vomiting worse? It hurts me to see him vomit constantly, but its what he wants.

Hi....I have just read through your query. By what you quote I too feel that your kid is having a cyclical vomiting syndrome. This might get better as the kids grow. Coming to your queries -

1. On long term - sometimes these kids can c=have seizures and you need not worry about as of now. It is only a possibility and if this happens then it can be taken care of.

2. Short term - the only thing he needs will be Intravenous fluids/ IV antiemetic medicatoins and not gatorade. Please avoid giving gatorade.
