General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

* The operated patient of IPOM must not be getting constipation at any cost as that may hamper the surgical recovery to great extent.

* My guidelines at present:
- Plenty of liquids
- High fiber diet
- Laxatives as sodium picosulfate or milk of magnesia as per the choice of the consultant
- To keep a check on the list of other drugs which can give constipation as side effect
- Tincture Benzoin inhalation and physician follow up for the cough

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
