Suggest Treatment For Constipation And Stomach Bloating

i have oral crohn's disease and blood test diagnosed coeliac disease, also pre-disposed to diabetes. I suffer from chronic constipation and bloating. Been taking normafibe regularly once a day, heaped 5ml measure spoon, took normacol last nite, been going a bit but still blocked, although did have bad abdominal pain this morning after breakfast, was also taking antibiotics which i have now ceased to take. Unsure whether to take another dose of normacol, or not to work it through more, or just normafibe which may not do anything and just block me.

Hi,

A certain degree of bloating is normal but in case of excessive bloating, it may be a sign of food allergy, hiatal hernia, IBS or inflammatory bowel diseases.

So you should do gastroenterologic work up but first, try to change your dietary habits, it means: eat smaller meals but more frequently, avoid fried and spicy food, take mint tea, avoid alcohol and coffee, eat probiotics and milk products, boiled food and vegetables.

Also, there are medications such as Flobian, Magnesium oxide or certain Laxatives which may relieve such symptoms of this continue. If there is no improvement in these measures, you should consider doing diagnostic tests such as colonoscopy, anal sphincter manometry and food allergy testing.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
