General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi, I understand your concern. - In pregnancy both intestinal movements & digestive process are slowed down due to pregnancy hormone.Due to them the stools are retained in rectum for a longer time, get dried giving rise to constipation. It The white discharge is due to stress of defecation. It can be managed by few lifestyle changes/ help of few medicines. - Get stools examined to exclude intestinal infection/inflammation. - Having multiple small servings of food- rather than loading digestive system with large meals - Eating high fiber diet along with plenty of water ( 12 glasses )in 24 hours. - regular walking/ abdominal exercises - Get help from digestive enzymes, stool softeners like Ispaghuls, Purgatives are better avoided as they are habit forming.
a Thanks.
