Suggest Treatment For Constipation

Hi, I would like to give you a brief of my case:
I am 40 years old, i had a digestion problem since 7 years and may be over especially for fried food, I had a nerve colon since 3 years which made it worse having constipation and due to lose and gain weight the constipation caused hemmoroids (inner & one outside).
Now before 5 weeks, I got a shock of something that wouldn't expect really to be real (I had it as a feeling), I got angry and very nervse, so hard constipation occured which I took neohealar ointment and suppositries (repeated it for 3 weeks), there were little bleeding I stopped that medicine and the Dr. told me to use Glyserine Suppositries and movicol drink to heal the bleed and make stool easy. This since 2 weeks. I used to brush my teeth daily (my upper tooth had inflammation) and my dentist was sick, Now before four days, I was brushing my teeth i saw my tongue (blue colored) and when I drink water it return to normal like pink-blue - pink, when nervse, return to blue, i asked my Dr. he said don't worry stop glyserine & movicol unless you feel hard to stool, cause your rasipatory system is clean, heart palpitation came due to the shock and now you said fine, then I think go to dentist I went to my dentist he saw it said that use oralmedic application with mouth gargle till you the things calm and then I can do you teeth. I used them it was burning now better.. but sometimes I feel its blue, and constipation is still. my eating time is not organized.., i didn't use to drink too much water but those passed days since this happened i drink too much water... some times i feel taste sour, and headache. i don't know thats why i would like to have your good self opinion. Doctor. Thanks alot

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

This may be r related to IBS and chronic constipation (spasms). That is particularly true when you consume foods like nuts or popcorn that would trigger spasms of the bowel.

I suggest running colonoscopy to exclude organic problems first. With regards to finding blood floating in the toilet after you pass the motion, that would be related to possible:

- fissures due to chronic constipation
- haemorrhoids
In both cases, you need to take measures to reduce constipation that would trigger such problems:

- do more physical activity
- increase water consumption
- take more foods high in fibre content
- fibre supplements can help
- can use laxatives once in a while to improve the symptoms

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Ivan R. Rommstein, General Surgeon
