Suggest Treatment For Constipation

Hi, may I answer your health queries right now ? Please type your query here...

I'm not pregnant but took 3 tbsps of castor oil and wonder if you can have any alcohol that day. I've never been constipated and do not have a family doctor. I'm 56 years of age in good health except for high blood pressure which I've taken meds for thte last 25 years...been a little less active lately due to winter. I'm really concerned about this lack of bowel movement ...have little bits come out every morning but then that's it. Still have a good appetite. Tried prunes, kidney beans, brown beans, cabbage. lots of water but...nothing but gas... Can you help please ??? Little abdominal discomfort on my left side...

Hello,

Some advice that I can give to you are:
- Drink more water.
- Eat more fiber, especially soluble, non-fermentable fiber.
- Exercise more.
- Take Senna, an herbal laxative.
- Eat probiotic foods or take probiotic supplements.
-Use over-the-counter or prescription laxative

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
