Suggest Treatment For Cough And Metallic Tasting Phlegm
I have had a cough for about 2-3 weeks. I got a z pack from a doc for bronchitis but although the cough has decreased in frequency and intensity it is still there. I have been coughing up phlegm but I have noticed it has a strange taste. I would describe the taste has metallic tasting. Is this something to be concerned about or to receive more antibiotics for?
Hi, thanks for the query. Post viral bronchitis will cause metallic taste in mouth. Even phelgm will produce this taste. If I were your treating doctor I woukd have prescribed, multivitamin with zinc for metallic taste with antihistamines + mucolytics twice daily for 2 weeks. Avoid cold items, oily foods, curds, citrus fruits untill treatment. Hope my answers have helped you.
