Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am having trouble w/ my 2 middle fingers on each hand locking. It is worse in the am but does not go away entirely. It started several months ago on my left side. I had a tingling in my neck. That has gone away but the cramping in the fingers seems to be getting worse. My family doc thought it might be arthritis but Alieve or heat is not helping. It seems odd that of it was arthritis it would be the same on both sides. I would appreciate your opinion. Judy
Hi,Thanks for your query. After going through your query I came to know that you are suffering from trigger fingers causes of it can be many such as rheumatoid arthritis and thyroid diseases which increase swelling within tissue. Treatment of it rest and analgesic such as diclofenac. If not relieved by it then local injection of steroid within sheath is very effective. You should also search for cause of it by investigation for rheumatoid arthritis, thyroid disease and diabetes. You can discuss with your treating Doctor about it. I do hope that you have found something helpful. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries. Wishing you good health. Take care.
