Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
A few days ago, my face and neck started to break out with what I could only rationalize are cysts. I normally have a heavy beard growth and it seems that these cysts have little white or clearish hairs in them. I have never noticed these hairs before and I have never even had a problem with acne. I don t know what to do and this is destroying my face and neck. Only on the parts where my facial hair grows, so far. It has spared my upper cheeks, forehead, nose, eye area, etc.
Thanks for your query, I have gone through your query. The swelling or pus discharge can be because of the sebaceous cyst or a furuncle. Nothing to be panic, consult a oral and maxillofacial surgeon or general surgeon and get it evaluated. You might have to get an ultrasound done to confirm the diagnosis. Once the diagnosis is confirmed, it can be treated with either incision and drainage or enucleation. Mean while you can take a course of antibiotics like amoxicillin and metronidazole(if you are not allergic). I hope my answer will help you, take care.
