Suggest Treatment For Decompensated Esophoria, Sinus Pressure And Cold

I recently acquired double vision (decompentated esophoria). I am a healthy 50 year old female. I woke up one more with a cold and sinus pressure and my double vision was alleviated for that 1 week period, and now it is back. MRI of brain and orbits is fine. Why am I have decompenated esophoria NOW and why did my sinus pressure alleviate it????

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have decompensated esophoria, sinus pressure and cold which seems to be due to upper respiratory tract infection/ granular pharyngitis. But in your case the symptoms are due to sinusitis .

I would suggest you to visit ENT specialist once and get it examined. You should go paranasal sinus X-ray and for throat swab test and get blood tests done and start treatment after proper diagnosis. You should do warm saline gargles.

You should take steam inhalation , which will be very helpful. You should take antiallergic medication such as Levocetrizine. Take proper course of antibiotic along with mucolytic agents. Sip warm water and avoid cold beverages.

Doctor may also refer you to neurologist fir condition like bell's palsy .

Hope your concern has been resolved.

The symptoms may also occur due to bell's palsy , so consult neurologist . For now start facial muscle exercises and physical therapy of face .
