General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Missed periods should be evaluated initially for any hormonal imbalance or Polycystic ovarian disease (PCOS).

I advise you to get an Ultrasound abdomen immediately to look for the above.

I generally advise my patients, oral tablets of Progesterone 10 mg for 5 days to regularize periods. So please check with your doctor whether she prescribes the same.

These drugs should be taken only after getting evaluated through ultrasound abdomen.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ivan R. Rommstein, General Surgeon
