My husband is diagnosed with Alzheimer s and dementia (71) yrs old. Been hallucinating constantly all day. The dr in Cleveland clinic prescribed quetiapine 1/2 tablet of 25 mg. tonight was his first dosage. Should he eat with this pill. How soon will it take effect

Regarding your concern, you should know that you may take quetiapine with or without food. It does not matter. Is effects start around one hour after taking it. But you should know that its main effects in the first weeks are sedation and calming anxiety. Its effects on the hallucination are usually seen after a couple of weeks.
