Suggest Treatment For Diarrhea And Cold

My daughter has just gotten over a cold and 3 days ago had diarrhea which she still has. This morning when she woke up, both of her outer ears were bright red and swollen and she had red bumps on her lips, cheeks, chin, arms and even on the soles of her feet. I took her to the pediatrician who did a quick swab test and said she tested positive for strep throat. I don't see any swelling or redness in her throat and I have never heard of these symptoms occurring with strep throat. Has she been misdiagnosed and are these symptoms of something more serious? Would you advise to take her to the ER?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, strep throat do present without absence of throat swelling.

Recommended to continue current antibiotics, maintain hydration with plenty of liquids, gargles with salted lukewarm water added peppermint oil and have in regular follow up with her pediatrician.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel
