Suggest Treatment For Diarrhea In An Elderly Person
Greetings, My mother has has a set of diareha about 4 hrs apart..She,s 90 years old with fair health..She,s had her flu shot but think zhe got hit with the bug..I,m keeping her hydratted with orange juice and water...Thinking about taking her to hospital but could be overwhelmed thru such bug activity..I.v been bit but jst came out of it yesterday...It lasted 3 days but at her age maybe hospital to be looked aft with iv drip to ztay hydrated and latest care available..any suggestion..
Hello, If she is not keeping down fluids then it may be necessary to take her to the hospital. Older patients can get very ill quickly if they become dehydrated. IV fluids can rehydrate her quickly and help her feel better. Regards
