Suggest Treatment For Diarrhea Post Clindamycin Intake
I am having severe diarrhea after finishing a 300 mg, 3 times a day of clindamycin for a tooth infection. It has been 3 days and it is not improving with over the counter diarrhea medicine an probiotics. I have am eating only bread and liquids. I am worried about C diff or other compications. Is it too early to see a doctor about this?
Hello dear,my name is dr.Dorina Gurabardhi.I understand your concern. Antibiotics can upset the normal bacteria balance in the gut, causing diarrhea. Some advices that I can give to you are: -avoid foods that commonly trigger diarrhea -Probiotics may relieve diarrhea -take water to stay hydrated and replace any fluids lost to diarrhea Hope my answer was helpful,if you have any other question I will be glad to answer, thanks!
