Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
A week ago I had a bout with diarrhea not typical, for me, I took some Imodium, it went away, but then yesterday it came back. Wasn t sure if it was a bug. Now diarrhea is pinkish but not a lot, some stomach cramps but not a lot. Trying to keep hydrated, I do have an appetite even my stomach feels hungry after I eat just odd symptoms
If you are having blood in your stool (which it sounds like you might be), I would recommend you see a doctor. If you are feeling dizzy/lightheaded/extremely fatigued, I would recommend that you go to the ER or Urgent Care today in case you have a GI bleed.
If you are not having the above-mentioned symptoms but are still having blood in your stool, I still recommend that you speak to your doctor about it this week. Possible causes include infection (are you having fevers too?), IBD (i.e. Crohns or Ulcerative Colitis. Does that run in your family?), hemorrhoids, diverticulosis, or cancer (are you over 50? Up to date on your colonoscopy?).
