Suggest Treatment For Difficulty In Swallowing Food

I have a 16 year old son who is having problems with swallowing his food, this has been going on for over a year now. We have been to the doctors on several occasions but he says there is nothing there. He was sent for a scan to see if there was anything in his throat but there was nothing, I am really worried, he only weighs 7 stone and looks ill, it is getting to the stage where he is only eating soft food and every mouthful he takes he has to drink with it, please can you help?

Hello,

Dfficulty in swallowing may be due to pharygitis or esophagitis or esophagial spasm or oral ulcers etc.

Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. Use tablet Pantoprazole before breakfast for one week.

Get oral examination is done and upper GI endoscopy. Please consult your physician/gastroentrologist they will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
