Suggest Treatment For Diverticulosis And Blood In Stool
My mother 89 in good health, has been bleeding from the bowels, for a couple weeks, She has recd. 2 pints of blood yesterday and colonoscopy revealed severe diverticulosis in a section of her colon. what is the best course of action to help her improve her quality of life?
Your mother might have repeated infection of this leading todiarrhea, vomiting, flatulence or blood in stool occasionally etc.
She may require 1) antibiotics (quinolones or cephalosporins) with 2) antiprotozoals likemetronidazole, 3) antiemetics, 4) antispasmodics, 5) probiotics and other supportive treatment.
With dietary restrictions to low fat and high protein but the main cure is the only surgical removal of diverticulam because of repeated gut infection or there could be also chances of complications like peritonie, bowel obstruction etc.
So,better you see gastrosurgeon and take advise.
