Suggest Treatment For Dizziness Caused After Stopping Xanax

Hi, to make a very long story short, my doctor prescribed me xanax every night for anxiety a couple years ago. I came off it and had withdrawal/rebound symptoms, all of which have since passed besides the dizziness/vertigo. I was VERY bad when i was withdrawing and is not severe now but whenever I get on an elevator, a fast car, get up too fast, spin around, etc I get dizzy/vertigo. I am going to Disneyworld next week and i have always been a roller coaster fan but i know that I will get very dizzy and light headed and I m scared. I don t want to ruin the trip for my husband. I was prescribed Meclizine a while ago and have a few left, would this work? I have never taken motion sickness medicine other than Meclizine because I have never had motion sickness. I m not even sure if this is motion sickness I experience. Please help!! thank you!

Meclizine is an antihistamine used for both motion sickness and vertigo. Meclizine will definitely help you in reducing the vertigo/dizziness associated with moments in Disneyland.
In the meantime, my advice would be to get a thorough examination by an otorhinolaryngologist to determine whether you habe any positional vertigo. The management of such vertigo includes medications as well as lifestyle medications. Hope the above information helps you. Thanks.
